TeraPulse - The Next Generation Terahertz Spectrometer and Imaging System from TeraView

TeraView is pleased to announce the launch of its new Terahertz system, the TeraPulse 4000!


Building on the success of the TPS Spectra 3000 which has become the industry standard in Terahertz instrumentation, the TeraPulse 4000 offers the same industry leading performance and reliability, all within a single, compact unit. Smaller, lighter and more portable, the TeraPulse is equally at home in a laboratory or industrial environment.

The system is available with an on-board spectroscopy/imaging compartment (as shown above) or with fibres. The fibre based system can then accept various ’plug and play’ sample modules, enabling a range of different Terahertz applications that have been developed by TeraView over the last decade. Both configurations are fully compatible with TeraView’s existing and extensive range of “plug and play” modules, which allow users to quickly and economically expand their Terahertz capabilities.

The system is also supplied with a new software suite which fully integrates the improved spectroscopic and imaging capabilities of the unit into one common platform.

TeraView Establishes Asian Presence

With a growing list of customers in Asia, TeraView has taken the step of establishing an initial base in the region. The first office is located in Seoul, and is intended to enhance the service, technical support and applications-specific expertise which TeraView offers its customers and commercial partners in the region.

The new office will be managed by Mr Bong Cho, who joined TeraView in 2012 after many years of experience working for companies active in the semiconductor inspection and non-destructive testing industries.

“These are exciting times at TeraView and there is significant untapped potential within the Asian market,” said Mr Cho. “We now have machines across Asia and increasingly with industrial partners. We need to ensure that we continue to provide these customers and partners with the best possible support. This office shows our commitment to our existing customers and commercial partners in Korea, and also to the wider region”.

TeraView secure sale of first Terahertz machine into Africa

TeraView has secured the sale of its first machine into Africa with an order from the National Research Centre in Egypt. Selected for its quality, flexibility and ease of use, it is the first turn key terahertz unit in Africa and is an increasing sign of the globalization of the companies technology

TeraView Supplies Two Terahertz Systems to Leading Research Institutes in China

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (电子科技大学), Chengdu, and The National Institute of Metrology (中国计量科学研究院) have both recently installed TeraView’s TPS Spectra 3000 spectrometers. The systems were selected due to their superior performance, ease of use and the Company’s track record with its existing customers in Asia.
The system at UESTC will be used by Prof Xiaodong Chen Visiting Professor from Queen Mary University London. Prof. Chen, who heads the department of Microwave Engineering in the Department of Electronic Engineering at QMUL, has a long standing history in the area of terahertz radiation research and has been a key contributor to the international terahertz community. The second TPS Spectra 3000 system at the National Institute of Metrology is supplied with TeraView's unique medical probe which provides three-dimensional information revealing structures beneath the surface with spatial resolution precision of 20 μm axial resolution of 40 μm.

TeraView Secures $5.5m to Fund Growth in Key Markets

TeraView (http://www.teraview.com/), the pioneer and leader in Terahertz systems and solutions, is pleased to announce that it has secured $5.5m of investment from a consortium of US, Asian and EU based institutional and corporate investors.

The investment will allow TeraView to accelerate the growth of its semiconductor, industrial and analytical business in Asia, the US and the EU. Key areas for focus include sales and marketing in Asia, as well as further product development in its semiconductor inspection market. Funding will also be used to enhance support and collaborations with existing customers in these markets.
This investment has been secured at a time when TeraView has successfully demonstrated Terahertz applications across a variety of different industries, and there is a growing business need for the unique capabilities of Terahertz light. This need is driven, for example, by the mobile phone and consumer electronics industries, which aim to overcome limitations in the speed and functionality of current integrated circuits (ICs). Terahertz can be utilised in the development and manufacturing of both existing and new generations of semiconductor ICs, which are now widely used in mobile phones and tablet computers. Intel and other major semiconductor manufacturers currently use TeraView’s products.
TeraView has successfully secured customer funding to develop products in these and other markets. With the new capital from investors, TeraView will scale up its product delivery and manufacturing to meet increasing order patterns from current and new customers.
The funding round was led by New Hill Management and Full Circle Investments in the US, together with YFM Equity Partners and Turquoise International in the UK and other investors. Turquoise International invested on behalf of the UK Low Carbon Innovation Fund (LCIF), based at the University of East Anglia. 

Richard Harvey, Chair of the LCIF Investment Committee commented ‘We are delighted to support this patented technology which offers carbon saving technology to high growth markets, which will bring jobs and growth to the region.’

First Sale in Russia for TeraView

TeraView (http://www.teraview.com/), the pioneer and leader in Terahertz technology, along with its distributor in the region, Bruker Optics (www.bruker.com),  has just delivered and installed its first instrument in the Russian Federation at the Russian Academy of Sciences,  Institute of Cell biology (ICB RAS).
ICB was formed in 1990 under the prestigious umbrella of the Russian Academy of Sciences and performs studies in to the biophysics of cell function. The terahertz instrument will perform research intermolecular interactions and hydrogen bonding in cells structures in vitro.
The sale adds to TeraView’s growing installed base worldwide, and helps strengthen its position into an expanding research market in Russia.
